As a licensed clinical social worker, I have worked as a counselor and clinical director at a variety of non-profit organizations since 2001.  I created my private practice, Lotus Therapy, 2 years ago.  I am committed to creating a safe environment in which individuals or couples can expand their understanding of themselves and the obstacles to their growth.  My joy in this work comes from patiently guiding clients toward the development of latent inner resources in the service of healing past wounds.

At Lotus Therapy

I specialize in :

  • Working with clients to overcome the effects of trauma

  • Creating a safe space in which to process grief and loss

  • Working with those struggling with eating disorders and body image issues

  • Helping people who compulsively pull their hair or pick their skin

  • Helping couples to deepen relationships

  • Working with adolescents facing challenges and struggling with issues of identity

Wild Geese

You do not have to be good.

You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.

You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.

Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.

Meanwhile, the world goes on.

Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers.

Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again.

Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting--over and over announcing your place in the family of things.
